Beltangady, Mar 6: On March 6, police arrested Sonu Joy (32), a resident of Beltangady, who had been wanted in connection with court case 445/2016 under sections 143, 147, 148, 504, 506, 447, 427 and 149 of the IPC. He had been absconding for the past two years, and a warrant had been issued for his arrest. With the guidance of police circle inspector Shivakumar and assistant sub inspector Anil Kumar D, Dharmastala police station HC Manjunath and PC Mallikarjuna arrested him from Nelyadi bus stand and produced him in court.
In a separate case, Bantwal rural police arrested Inti alias Bashir, a resident of Kundala, Kannur, Kerala, in Mangaluru on March 6. He had been wanted in connection with Bantwal rural police station case No. 249/2017 under section 379 of the IPC, and had been absconding for the past six years.
Warrant staff HC Ganesh and police constable Prasad had arrested him and produced him before the ACJ and JMFC Bantwal court.
