The assaulted duo have been identified as Abdul Kabir Bhukari (45), a resident of Melengady and Zakir Hussain (40) of Mukkacheri in Ullal. It is further alleged that the group of about ten people supported by Ashraf Ahmed Ullal are behind the act.

The injured have been admitted to Nethaji Hospital, Tokkottu. A case has been registered at Ullal police station.

What Led to Dispute?

His selection was made during a committee meeting on Friday June 17 afternoon wherein dargah manager Ahmed Bava informed that the selection was for a week's time.

From the past three years Haji Kanachur Monu was the president. With the committee being dissolved last week, a need arose to elect 50 members to the committee, 10 each from zones Alekala, Melangady, Kotepura, Mukkacheri and Kallapu Kariya and hence an election was conducted.

Following the election, a 50-member-committee was formed, who had to convene another meeting for selection of five more members. However, at this juncture a conflict in Mukkacheri zone over selection of member led to war of words in the Friday meet at dargah premises. Amid all this, presiding over the meet, Ullal assistant khazi Syed Koorath Thangal under the direction of Ullal khazi Syed Abdurrehman Kunnikozhi Thangal announced Ashraf Ahmed as the president.

Enemy within are more dangerous than outsider. It seems all are for name, fame, power. Everything from service has changed to business and rock bottom is how much one will benefit.
I think Carl Marx, one of the Communist thinker, was 100% right. " Religion is opium to the soceity" . This has divided people. Ultimately it is disgusting to notice for power even at religious places, one turn into violence within the same congregation. Wish wisdom prevails over evil designs.
