Mangaluru: CCB operation – 13 kg ganja confiscated, two arrested

Mangaluru, Mar 14: The city crime branch (CCB) police of the city arrest two people in connection with transporting ganja from Andhra Pradesh to the city via Bengaluru and confiscated 13 kg ganja from them.

Acting on tip off that ganja is being transported near Alape of Kankanady railway station limits, the CCB police conducted raid on the evening of March 11 and arrested Abdul Sadiq (35), resident of Aladka Banglegudde house of Bantwal Panemangaluru and Nawaz (24), of Gandhinagara Mane of Kakkinje village of Beltangady taluk.

Police confiscated 13 kg ganja worth Rs 3.90 lac, two mobile phones, Rs 5,610 in cash and assets totalling Rs 4,15,610.

A case of ganja transportation was filed against Abdul Sadiq at Lashkar Mohalla police station of Mysuru in 2022.

ACP of CCB P A Hegde, police inspector Shyam Sundar H M, PSI Rajendra, SI Shashidhar Shetty and personnel took part in the operation.
