Udupi, Mar 14: “We have not adopted the entire Hindu society, we are just taking measures which are needed for the protection of the Hindu society,” said Eshwarappa, BJP leader and Vijay Sankalpa Yatra in-charge of the district.
Answering mediapersons’ question about Hindu leader Pramod Muthalik contesting from Karkala, Eshwarappa said, “In a democratic set up, anyone can contest elections from anywhere. He might be a Hindu leader, but we have not adopted the entire Hindu society. We have made all the efforts for the protection of the Hindu society. Others also can take the initiative. People will decide and vote. He is not in the BJP. Congress will utterly fail in its workings.
“Siddaramaiah has visited Udupi many times but never felt like visiting Sri Krishna Math at least once. There is an integral bond between Krishna and Kanakadasa, Krishna inspired Kanakadasa. But I never know why Siddaramaiah was not inspired. In the beginning, Siddaramaiah used to criticize temples and Hinduism. But now he has almost stopped it. He did not visit the Math when he was the chief minister. I think, due to the curse of Sri Krishna only, he must have lost Chamundeshwari constituency and the chief minister’s post. He must visit the temple now at least and something good may happen to him.”
Eshwarappa reinstated his stand on Azaan saying, “The views I expressed are of the general public and not mine. Exams are being conducted for students in the state and if at this time, Azaan is being played four to five times a day, how will the children study? This is also creating problems for general public and hospital patients. Everyone has appreciated my stand.”
Kuilady Suresh Naik, BJP district president, Raghupati Bhat, MLA Udupi, S Angara, in-charge minister, Udupi and other party leaders were present.
