Mangaluru, Mar 17: District Congress Committee President Harish Kumar criticized the ruling BJP government in the state and stated that people will reject the present government after the assembly polls and send them on a pilgrimage.
Addressing the media here on Friday, March 17,Kumar claimed that the BJP's development policies are only to obtain political mileage, unlike the Congress government, which fulfilled all promises made to the people when in power. He accused the BJP of failing to fulfill the 40% assurance promise to the people.
Kumar also criticized the BJP for using religion and deities to gain votes without actually being concerned about these issues. He claimed that the BJP only praises God and Daivas during elections to gain votes and then insults them after winning. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will participate in the Yuva Sangama scheduled for March 20 in Belagavi.
Kumar predicted that people will teach the BJP a lesson in the upcoming elections and that the BJP will go into the dustbin. He accused the BJP of trying to privatize every field and close KSRTC completely, referring to a meeting called by Ballari Sriramulu on March 24 to pass a rule that private buses can travel 24 km with its route permit and also through KSRTC routes, which would harm KSRTC workers.
Kumar also criticized ministers Madhuswamy and Araga Jnanedra for sarcastically commenting on Tulunadu's Daivas, which he claimed is the belief of crores of people.
