Mangalore, Jun 21:
On Tuesday evening, the policemen from the city rural station arrested Kiran Johnson Pereira (29), who has been accused of kidnapping his wife, Philomena Serrao (26), who is an employee of Mphasis BPO here. A team headed by police inspector, Manjunath Shetty, made these arrests. Pereira and his wife were found from a house at Arlapadavu in Konalu village near Nelyady in Puttur taluk, belonging to Vincent, a friend of Johnson.

Pereira’s three accomplices, Dharma, Sathsih, and driver of his vehicle that was used for the kidnap drama, Vasanth, were also arrested from the spot, it is gathered, although the policemen did not confirm these three arrests. The policemen are on the lookout for two other persons who had assisted Johnson in the abduction. The vehicle used for the abduction has also been confiscated. It is learnt that Philomena has alleged that she was raped by Kiran Johnson Pereira on the night of her abduction. Therefore, she was sent for medical examination.

It may be recalled that Philomena was abducted by her husband, her relationship with whom had soured since some years because of the alleged abusive behaviour of Johnson, by intercepting the vehicle of Mphasis in which she was travelling to her workplace. It is learnt that their marriage, solemnized in 2006, did not last long. The divorce petition filed by Philomena is pending in court. The abduction had occurred at Baiturli on the way to Neermarga on Monday afternoon.

Philomena has complained that Kiran used to frequently visit her parental home, where she had started staying after severing her links with Kiran, and threaten the members of the household. Her family said that a number of complaints about violent and abusive ways of Kiran were registered with the police in the past.

A case of rape and abduction stands registered in the rural police station here. Investigation is on.

I wish to comment on the allegation of the Police involvement in safeguarding Kiran. If the Police were involved in protecting Kiran, then why Kiran is in hospital now being treated for his fever and fractures caused by the Police beating. Kiran got beaten up so much by the Police, that both his hips got displaced and his face got swollen.

Kiran sincerely loved his wife (It was love marriage) Philomena, but Philomena did not understand his love because she married him only for his money and not out of love. Kiran, God has seen your sincerity, your love and good deeds towards your wife and He will reward you. (may be the way you approached your wife is wrong in law’s sight)

Kiran you truly deserve a much better person as your life partner than Philomena. My message to Philomena is “just because the law is in your favour today do not punish an innocent person “Fear God”. Kiran we all are praying for you, don’t worry your uncles, aunties, cousins are there for you because we know you are innocent and soon justice will be done

Mr. Lancy Moras, don’t point out on people of Merlapadav. Since our place is small it will be easily highlighted ……. Do you think such cases are less in your place as well?

Another case of husband bashing. Husband looks innocent and is been framed here . And for the God sake 19 is not tender age to get married , infact its the right age. The girl (wife) works in a BPO which gives reasonable fat package .

Suudenly on process husband (family) becomes boring , which results in a divorce file. It also to be understood that these kind of cases are rising these days , i hope police investigates this case properly and puts the girl and her family (or her bf..which is the nearest possibility) behind bars.

6 years marriage, of husband Kiran and wife Philomena (25), yrs who is offlate staying separately.
Most of the marriages in Mangalore are broken because of girl's family interference in their marriage life and I do see the same with Philomena (25),marriage.
Philomena might have married at a very tender age of 19.
Complain by Philomena’s ,father alleging that her husband demanding dowry is absurd. This I have never and ever heard in our community last 30 yrs and we are moving forward and backward. This is definitely false complain. Torture by husband is possible.
The mindset created by Philomena (25),and her family against her husband Kiran are the main cause of all this trauma and lead to ugly scene.
Unfortunately Kiran adopted a wrong path by kidnapping her while she was travelling to her office which will back fire Kiran.
Wish this ugly scene of marriage will not go further which may lead to ruin both families - waste of energy, money, time and revenge. Rather constant communicatin, sorting out issues, applying sense of understanding and using wisdom may reduce the pain and agony for both the families and may unite this couple. Wish things will move positive for both families and unite both husband & wife.

It is better to leave husband and wife to sort out their problems which eventually does! who ever supports the external influence first introspect if your own married life if it is 'Perfect' before you comment, and Mr. Henry Misquith I'm amazed by your thought process!!

S.I Prakash, Police Officer of Kankanady P. Station is an efficient and brilliant Officer. I request him to help the couple to solve this marital problem earliest possible. Divorce is the last resort, but doesnt help to solve this problem. It is a temporary relief, thats all.

May be now they can sort things out. Jailing him is not going to solve the issue. If there is chance for them to get back to together, it should be encouraged.

What’s wrong with public . Instead of solving the issue why do you make big issue here ? poor couple not allowed them to stay for some times. Now watch both of them will come together and resolve all their issues

    Congrats!
As far as I know, kankanday cops are very efficient.
But I feel that the cops should try and settle the matter since it is between a husband and wife.

    Kudoes to SI Prakash
