Mangalore, Jun 22: Police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh on Wednesday June 22 has contemplated issuing guidelines to the companies on deployment of a security personnel in a cab that plies carrying a lone female employee. The alleged kidnap of Mphasis BPO employee Philomena by her estranged husband Kiran on Monday June 20 while she was on her way to the office in the company cab has led to the move by the commissioner.

Speaking to presspersons here Singh hinting at Kiran, who was arrested on Tuesday June 21 being 'obsessive' about his wife and that his urge to win her back provoked him to kidnap her. He also showed erratic and extreme behaviour during the course. The total arrest related to incident is six persons which includes five of Kiran's associates and arrests have been made under sections 342, 365, 368, 506 with IPC 34 along with the other related major sections, he informed.

The five persons arrested are identified as Vasanth Kumar, Dharmaprakash, Sathish, Mohandas and Yogish, all residents of Neermarga. Search is on for others who have involved themselves in the case such as persons funding the kidnap and lending the vehicle among others.

Police Ploy to Safeguard Kidnapper?

Meanwhile, there is a suspicion on involvement of police in the case, according to sources. It is alleged that Kankanady rural police station sub-inspector is shielding Kiran from being awarded severe punishment and also it was due to his close association with the officer that Kiran had threatened Philomena of her getting into trouble once he is out from prison.

Earlier when Daijiworld contacted Philomena she said that Kiran had used some chemical substance on her after which she fell unconscious. She also alleged Kiran of raping her.

In this entire case, one has to go back to the morale of both families background of Kiran and Philomena. How are their parents, brothers and sisters, their ethical, moral values and this may give better light who is the real culprit here.
NO doubt, now all fingers are pointing at Kiran but long run, it is always truth will come out.
Kiran is absolutely wrong by forcibly taking her wife from the transport vehicle but for the wife, to split with Kiran, there is some one behind the scene who is supporting her and as she is working girl, financially she is independent. In some of the cases, working women due to self reliant on their financial part gives less important to their husband and this leads to friction in the relationship of husband and wife. Some cases this will lead to breakage of marriage. That doesn’t mean husband is Saint. Every coin has 2 sides and require 2 hands to clap.
The energy, money what both families used for this ugly scene, if the same used for developing better relationship with each other and family, things could have moved positively. Advise from wrong people leads to destruction.

I agree with you Mr.Thomas Andrade that not all the girls are innocent, but sometimes you never know who plays the games, I know of a guy to whom the world knows as a very sweet, well natured and a mild person, but his real behaviour with his wife from the day of the marriage was so horrifying for the wife that she was agahst. And the poor wife here can't prove anything because of his pretence as a very good and quiet person in front of the whole world. And her mother-in-law as made a monster out of her even to her own relatives. Today the case is that even her own relatives donot believe her, there are possibilites, sometimes the things that you see are not as true as they are pretented to be.

I voice my views with Hilda D'Souza. I know Kiran, who is my cousin's son. I have heard that they had the marital problems from day one. Everyone knows about the scene created by his bride on the wedding day itself. Everyone felt on that day how this poor guy could live with her rest of his life.

Kiran’s is a well off family and he does not need to marry any girl for dowry. In our country, if a girl wants to complain against her husband or in-laws, it is very easy for her to complain against them saying they are torturing her for dowry and the cops are quick enough to take action against them. Although many girls suffer silently because of the dowry-harassment, few are taking undue advantage of the law and I would not hesitate to say Philomena is one of them, who has falsely accused her husband.

What I strongly feel is that Kiran was not allowed to see his wife, so he must have taken this drastic step of taking her by force and convince her about patching up their problems and living together. However, the law is blind, it wants proof and the proof they got is “kidnapping” which might go against Kiran. I just wish Kiran that he would come out of this problem and have a peaceful life.

Yes Sunil, Dr. Alexander said she is not an angel, she has shown her true colour on the marriage day in the reception hall itself. Kiran is my neighbor, I don’t believe neither Kiran nor his family has tortured her. She married Kiran just because of his wealth now the story is twisted looks Kiran at fault which is wrong. As we read in daiji I don’t think Kiran’s family is demanding for dowry because they are a well settled family in our parish. Kiran loved her truly and married her. Now he is mentally tortured by her attitude and he is undergoing treatment as well. Due to this he might have reached to this extent. Only we need to pray to save Kiran from this tragedy.

better look for Kiran's Bro-in-law. and i dont think Philomina is angel. always keep in mind one hand never make sound.should be 2 hands....but Kiran is unlucky here because always in these kind of cases woman is a winner and man is a looser. women have a asset which anyone can melt once. But men???? ....sorry for you kiran..better investigate properly before put charges on kiran.must arrest all parties who involved in this drama.

Prasanna,You are wrong!! There is no such rule in corporates during 9AM -6 PM pickup or . Rules are applicable during nights. Frankly speaking whats the indivigual (Security/Male employee)can do when somebody showing nife right he will afraid because he needs his life hence you cant blame Mphasis/Mphasis transport or anyone. So please dont be in this confusion and dont put somebody in that.

    Thanks.

To be frank he is not a kidnapper. Before seven years he was held Philomena's hand and walked to the altar. But after seven years he may not even dreamt to hold these two hands. One in the right and the other left.

The guidelines is just for papers, If you see the cab facilities provided by the BPO company near MaryHill is pathetic. I had left company because of the bad cab facility. I had to stay near the road in the wee hours and also in the late night to get into the cab. They never provide door step or pickup facility. Security guards will be there but of no use. If anyone threatens them then they will be the first person to flee the place

There is already a rule in cabs of BPO's that states that no woman passenger/employee shall be dropped last.
