Three Feared Drowned at Tannirbavi - Search Operations On

Mangalore, Jun 23: Three youths are feared to have drowned at Tannirbavi beach here on Thursday June 23.

Tilak (24) a technician with Tribhuvan Motors, Santosh (23), a technician with Aravind Motors, and Deepak (23), a student in Mumbai, were washed away by the waves, however, it is yet to be confirmed whether all three have lost their lives.

They had come to the beach at around 4.30 pm, and were washed away an hour later.
 
They had come with their relatives Dhanush, Mahesh, Nithesh, Prashanth, all residents of Hoigebailu in Urva Store area. They were all in town to observe the last rites of their grandmother.

Sources said that they were cautioned by the local people to not get into the sea due to high tides, but their caution was thrown to the wind.

Panumbur police rushed to the spot and local swimming experts are searching for the youths.

    They were destined to die there otherwise why would 3 grown up men conversant with the local weather conditions, not under the influence of intoxicants go near to the roaring waters of the Arabian sea.

    Tragic n shocking for the families. Let the Almighty give them the courage to surmount this loss!! May the souls of the deceased rest in eternal peace!!!

    It is matter of great regret that despite the well known fact that Thanirbavi is not a safe place to go swimming, many youngsters take the risk.

    I am aware that DANGER signs have been posted in the area and perhaps it is expedient for The Government to post a policeman or two to prevent people from attempting to go swimming.

    What is the need of taking bath or swimming in the sea mansoon time?!
    Is always better to take bath at home in the bathroom instead of taking such risk!

    Why the youth of today do not fear of the coming hour. Was it necesssary for a swimming during this mansoon season ? Please I urge all youth to take this seriously.

    We all will pray for the safe rturn of these 3 youths who feared to be missing. God bless us all !!
