Karnataka Assembly polls to be held on May 10, counting on May 13

New Delhi, Mar 29: The Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday announced a single phase poll date for the 224 seats of the Karnataka Assembly on May 10.

Addressing a press conference here, chief election commissioner Rajiv Kumar said, "The elections will be held on May 10. The counting will take place on May 13.

"The gazette notification for the elections will be issued on April 13, while the last day for nominations would be April 20," he said. 

He said that the scrutiny of the nomination papers would take place on April 21 and the final date for the withdrawal of the nominations was April 24.
