Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore
Bangalore, Jun 26 : H R Bhardwaj, governor of Karnataka is in the news again, but this time not over Yeddyurappa.
This time it is regarding black money, but not of the UPA government or the Swiss Bank, but of temple and mutts. He has accused some of the mutt and temple heads of possessing huge amounts of black money, which has not been used for any developmental or charity work.
He was speaking at a private programme in Bangalore while distributing awards to teachers and NCC students at Jeevan Bhima Nagar's NAB Commercial College.
"The mutts and temples are doing a lot of good work, but a huge amount of black money is not being used for people-friendly programmes. I advise them to use such money for good causes, instead of hoarding it."
"I don't say that all the mutts and temples are doing this, but it's come to my knowledge that there are a good number of such institutions around us indulging in it. Unfortunately the government is also releasing money to such trusts, who use charity tags for personal benefits."
But he praised Tumkur Siddaganga seer Dr Shivkumara Swamiji who has provided free education to over 10,000 students in his mutt.
