Immediately after seeing this news I spoke to my AC technician. The answer he gave shocked me. They are provided with Safety harness from their company but suiting up and removing it between jobs is time consuming and it comes in the way of working. Dear working class people the high vis jacket, helmet, safety belt/harness is very important. You are to go back home to your loved ones. So please take safety precautions seriously. Pending work may be finished next day but once you loose your life or get disabled you & your family are finished. SO ALWAYS SAFETY FIRST

RIP brother. All building maintenance firms should adhere to safety standard & take care of their staff. No worker should be allowed to work without safety shoes, jacket, helmet & harness, especially while working in multi-storey buildings.

Condolence to Tauro family. Young blood has more confidence in their way of work. But gravity plays its own roll. Little bit of misbalance leads to total destruction. Precaution in terms of safety belt always advisable for this type of job.

Safety is least bothered here, hence PPE is not often used by workers unlike other countries where they give top priority.

So many times i have sent these AC technicians home as they dint have any safety belt with them and they work outside the windows. I had also informed the servicing company not to come home without any safety belt. Sadly we lost a invaluable life due to cost cutting by the companies. May his soul rest in peace.

RONEY MANGALORE, That's a sensible question to be asked. This has to be answered by the contractor who gave the work to the AC technician.
