Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Mar 30: A case is filed against a student of an engineering college accusing him of cheating and not returning money which he collected from several students on the assurance of giving 10% profit within a week.

The alleged accused is identified as Yashvardhan Jain alias YVJ, a fourth year student. It is alleged in the complaint that he had made a WhatsApp group from March 22 and took money with the assurance of returning 10% profit within a week.

Yashvardhan, it is alleged, created ‘YVJ Investment Enterprises’ Telegram group with the intention of cheating people all throughout the country. This group has got 981 members at present. Most of them are students of the Yashvardhan's college and other institutions.

From Yashvardhan's college, students paid Rs 27.96 lac in phases to his account from June 26, 2022 to January 3, 2023. In the beginning Yashvardhan had returned 10% profit in order to make the students believe that he is standing by his assurance. However, after the first month, he did not return any money at all.

The victim students have filed a complaint with CEN police station of the city.
