Clashes, Chaos Mar Kumaraswamy's Visit to Dharmasthala

Beltangady, Jun 27: A little more than a couple of hours after chief minister Yeddyurappa left Dharmasthala after offering puja at the Sri Manjunatha Temple here on Monday June 27, his arch-rival and state JD(S) chief Kumaraswamy arrived to take his turn at the Temple.
Kumaraswamy was expected to arrive an hour after Yeddyurappa, but he was delayed and reached the Temple only at around 12.30 pm.
Interestingly, Kumaraswamy told reporters that though he did not take any oath before the deity, he did say to himself thrice during the prayers that all the allegations he made against Yeddyurappa were true. He also insisted that he had not initiated the truth test drama.
He also produced the letter he had written to Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade and said that he had read it out in front of the deity. He once again reiterated that all the allegations he had made against Yeddyurappa in the letter were true, and accused the CM of bringing politics into religion with his visit to the Kshetra.
A large number of JD(S) supporters accompanied him and created a racket, shouting anti-Yeddyurappa slogans and even created much chaos near the entrance of the temple.
As in the morning in Yeddyurappa's case when BJP and Raita Sangha members clashed, here too JD(S) and BJP supporters had an encounter and the police had to intervene to disperse the crowd.
Earlier in the day, CM Yeddyurappa visited the Manjunatha Temple at Dharmasthala and offered his prayers. He said he did not take any oath, as was expected, and prayed only for the welfare of the state.
