Mangaluru, Apr 1: Ullal station police intercepted a car that was carrying Rs 7,95,000 cash without documents from Kerala and took into custody the cash and car.
The cash was found with Suresh, a resident of Kasargod Kuthrikkodu. It was found when the police were conducting inspection of vehicles at Talapady, the border of Kerala and Karnataka state.
The custody of the cash and the car were handed over to the officer of the election commission for investigation.
Suresh is a fabricator by profession. Primary investigation revealed that he was bringing the cash to buy materials from Bunder, Mangaluru. Police officials said that they will be registering a case if the cash is related to elections.
