Bantwal: Painting worker dies after losing balance, falling from house

Bantwal, Apr 2: A man who fell from the top of a house while doing painting work, has died due to his injuries in Sornadu taluk on the night of Friday.

The deceased, Robert Veigas (51), was a resident of Jakribettu Pallikanda.

He was working on the painting of a house in Sornadu, alongside a painting contractor.

At around 1 pm on Friday, Veigas lost balance and fell from a height while painting. He was immediately taken to a hospital in Mangaluru for higher treatment and was kept in an ICU. Unfortunately, he could not survive his injuries and passed away on Friday night.

A case related to this incident has been registered at the Bantwal rural police station.

    RIP. After he fell down, soon afterwards, he got up on his own and rode his motorcycle to the nearest hospital in Bantwal city. From there, he was transferred to Fr. Muller's hospital in Mangalore, where he had been in the ICU, not until 7 pm, when he breathed his last.

    Sarath mangalore,Have some pity with person and think of his family .Dont write things without a second thought.What would you think if this happened to you and others comment?That too painting is hard job.All the time paint smell may make one person sick ,at midday hot sun.Who knows whether he was a sick person ?May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to his family.One should think midday his blood sugar level must have gone down ?That too may be the reason to loose balance.Safety methods while working isnt there in our country.Some drink less water while working.

    Are there any laws to protect these workers? This is the second incident this week. Mangalore is getting lot taller buildings and propel are not having any safety equipment to access these buildings. There is no value for life in India.
