Mangalore: Dubai Visa Application Processing Centre Begins Functioning in City

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jun 28: The Dubai government and Emirates Airlines have jointly extended the facility of accepting Dubai visa applications to the city. VFS Global, which provides consular services and has presence across the globe, will be handling the work of accepting these applications in the city, as the work has been outsourced to it.

The Dubai Visa Processing Centre (DVPC) of VFS Global has become functional at the second floor of Manasa Towers building on M G Road in the city with effect from June 27. This office will receive and process Dubai visa applications from people residing in western Karnataka. The applications will then be scrutinized by the department of naturalization and residency Dubai (DNRD) as before.

The salient features of the new office are that there will not be any restrictions on the number of visa applications being routed through the travel agents or tour organizers. The visa applications will be processed within a short period of three to four days. The office has also been equipped with a unit that responds to emails from the applicants, and a helpline too is being operated from there.

The visa applications are accepted at this centre between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm on all days between Monday and Friday, and 9.30 am to 1.30 pm on Saturdays.

Jeet Sahni, vice-president of the company, said that this is the second DVPC centre opened by VFS Global in Karnataka, the only other centre being in Bangalore. Those interested in submitting their visa applications may contact the office through lifeline, +91 2267203232 or through email dvpcinfoixe@dubaivisa.net.

Dear All, All Airlines are ready to fly to Mangalore. Its because of Air India / Indian Civil Aviation they are not getting permission. May be they are having plenty Vada and Upma stocks to serve to Middle east sector ( I am joking ). Me and My family stopped eating Air India's Sadela Food. If same food had to sell in any of the outlets in Abu Dhabi, they will definitely get penalty from Food Control Authority. Seat quality is so bad, its not for travelling 3 to 5 hrs. But, I will travel till there is no option.

Travelled by Kingfisher to Mangalore via Bangalore. Experienced very good service, from the baggage handlers, check in staff and the airhostess were polite and eager to serve the passengers. Mr. Mallaya keeps his promise of superior service.
Only drawback is that it is not a direct flight. But the excellent service makes up for this shortfall.

Dear gentleman, the only prob. wt the Ai Express is the tkt fare.now a days the one way fare is Dhs: 1,400=00. will it acceptable to every one. because there is no other airlines operates to Mangalore. Incase of any second airlines operates then Ai Express will fly only with Pilot and Unfriendly Airhostess and empty seats.

    Dear Friends,
we have no complaints to Fly Air India Express, at the same time it being a Budget airlines it should be reasonable and should not make people pay through their nose, just for fling direct, even Air Arabia offers better rates during the peak seasons to Bombay but not air India express, in all honesty if there are other airlines coming over from different detestation, we all have choice to do and we get better services, from Air India express. if a person is flying with is family for 31/2 hrs it pay for the meal, than to starve with his little kids, has the chk in time is 3 hrs before dept the flying time. I would really appreciate other flights flying from Mangalore than having a monopoly.

Allan Dcoasta has written the truth and it is the ground reality. When Mangalore airport introduced UDF of rs.850/= no mangalorean has raised any voice whereas Keralites have not allowed the same in Kozhikode Airport.

Good news for people living in and around coastal karnataka which may help them bring their near & dear one's to Dubai as they are away from their families for longer periods.I wish FlyDubai/Emirates start thier operations as soon as possible so the UK/USA resident Mangaloreans get enormously benefitted.I wish them success.

I don't understand why people always complain of Air India Express. we should be thankful that it was the first and only airline to connect from Mangalore to GCC countries. without this airline people would really have suffered like before. we mangaloreans have a habit of always complaining and never giving thanks to god for what we have got. i do agree that sometimes the ground service or on board may not be up to the mark, but tell me which airline in the world is perfect? even though AIE is a budget airline they do provide meals or snacks and other things for free. even air arabia does not provide coffee and tea for free. i have travelled on AIE and i have never faced any problems untill now.

Ralston i do not agree with you 100% that Air India Express staff is very bad. I keep flying 4 times up and down and well aware of the ground reality. There may be some cases where people face problems which is common with all the carriers.
