Mangaluru, April 2: A fire broke out accidentally in the kitchen of Nebisa (late Abdul Khader), a resident of Harekala village, Derikatte, on Sunday, April 3 at 6.50 pm.

No casualties were reported due to the presence of mind exhibited by the household members who were busy at home in their Iftar due to the ongoing Ramzan month.

However, the house got completely engulfed in the fire. The household articles such as furniture, utensils, electrical and household appliances, children's school textbooks and other items got completely burnt in the fire.

MLA U T Khader visited the spot on getting to know of the incident. Similarly local panchayat representatives Rehana Nazir, Anees, Hanif, Rehana Muhammad, Abdul and Basheer S M among others also visited the place and offered condolences to the family.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to douse the fire with the help of the locals.
