BJP Releases 'Chargesheet' Against Deve Gowda, says his Assets Over 1,500 Crore

Bangalore, Jun 28: Continuing the series of allegations and counter-allegations, the BJP on Tuesday June 28 released a 'chargesheet' against oppostion JD(S) claiming that Deve Gowda and his family's known assets amounted to over Rs 1,500 crore.
BJP national spokesperson Nirmala Sitaraman, releasing the a 55-page booklet that elaborates the BJP's claim, said that the book exposes the way Deve Gowda and his family have amassed wealth through illegal means and added that it was just the tip of the iceberg and is meant to only give an 'indication' of Gowda's wealth.
She also said that the booklet has been released to counter the 'false allegations' levelled by the JD(S) against the BJP. The JD(S) was wasting its time and the precious time of the government by making such allegations, as the government is forced to spend most of its time answering the opposition instead of concentrating on development, she said.
The booklet was released in the presence of Shobha Karandlaje and Eshwarappa.
Meanwhile, Deve Gowda, on learning about the 'chargesheet' against him and his family, challenged the state government to order a CBI inquiry into his family's assets.
A furious Gowda talking to reporters said that Yeddyurappa's government has the power to order a probe, and it should do so to bring out the truth and punish the guilty.
