Bangalore: Unable to Face Problems, Man Poisons Family, Kills Self

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Jun 29: A person, who was unable to handle the crisis caused by nagging personal problems, chose to end his life by hanging himself.  Before ending his own life late night of Monday June 27, he fed poison to his wife, and two children. The incident occurred at Vishwapriya Extension in Begur, which falls under Electronic City police station limits.

Murthy (32), working for Mico Bosch in Adugodi in the city, his wife, Lakshmi (28), and children, Yashas (12), and Rohit (9), lost their lives together in this fashion. Before committing suicide, Murty had send SMS messages to his friends and relatives, conveying to them his decision to end life, and blaming himself for the mess. He also left behind a suicide note. Before sending messages to his close ones after 11 pm, Murty had come back home after the routine walk. Immediately after sending messages, he switched off his mobile, poisoned his family members, and then hanged himself.

The police personnel of Electronic City police station, who have registered the case, are investigating. They have recovered the death note left behind by Murthy.

Murty, who was recently transferred to the Mico Bosch unit in Adugodi from the main office, was seen to be aloof. He had turned an introvert since the past some months, and did not mingle with his colleagues there. Recently, he had built a house by raising loans, and his close ones believe that the decision to end life was taken because of his inability to repay this heavy debt. A couple of days before his death, it is learnt, he repaid small amounts he had earlier borrowed, to some creditors. Some of his relatives also claim that Murty used to confide with them often that he was facing harassment from the employers at his workplace in Adugodi.

JOYCE, Mangalore: I don't know how to say "thank you" for your most touching and inspiring
comment in response to my comment.

From the very younger age, God gave me compassion for all the suffering people. While watching
many different people in life from the early part of my life, a great lesson was learnt about life.
Those people who are totally self-centered had more misery in life and many tragedies followed
    them.

The wandering shephered boy son of Jesse the Bethlehemite was chosen by God to be the second
king of Israel, and he ruled  Israel for 40 years. He wrote many Psalms from his own life experiences of pain and victories.

If my comments will touch some lives, I am greatly blessed. THANKS TO DAIJIWORLD FOR PUBLISHING MY LONG COMMENTS. MAY GOD BLESS YOU JOYCE.

I think if the man would have managed things within his source of income, he and his family would not have died in this fashion.  Our forefathers have given us some wonderful proverbs. I think "hasige iddashtu kalu chachu" and aakashakke eni idabeda are the ones which say that a person should live and dream within his limits or else it will be problems invited for ever.
May their souls rest in peace.

Very sad incident. This is a clear example for negligence from the family and friends. If at all he was given support on time and treated for his depression, suicide could have been prevented. Its very important to have a supportive family and community specially times like this. Even a strong hearted person may become highly motivated to commit suicide if no support given in time.A.S .Mathew , U.S.A, is very sensitive in incidents like these.I beleive he has a very broad heart and mind while dealing with his fellow members which is very evident in his comments.

Two happy children along with their
    young parents left the world
    through a very terrible suicide.
    Another heart-breaking news to read.

Murthy showed symptoms of his deep
    depression through his attitude
change in front of the world. Perhaps nobody
paid attention to give him any
hope to live. I can say from my own personal experience in the past when we are in good times, we will be wrapped up with relatives and friends, but when we are faced with sorrows and financial setbacks, a great majority of them will be leaving us alone to wander in the wilderness. He was changed to be
    an "introvert"
    and avoided "mingling"
with the people which showed that
he was highly depressed. We can
    find fault with the depressed
people by digging down through their
past life, but when we look at ourselves, we all have done
    blunders. Some people who are
    very light-hearted can't handle
    depression like the strong willed
people. Without proper psychological and social help,
they may be forced to take their
    lives. Their suicide would have
been avoided, if they got financial
    help in time.
Can we learn some lessons from
this tragic event? As we all are
running too fast in life to fulfill
our material goals in life, very
rarely we see the hurting and
crying people in front of us!

May their souls rest in peace. This tragedy has happened. It should never have. It’s unfortunate but we cannot do much about it now But to learn. Many times in our lives, we are ped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless.

But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. You are special - Don't ever forget it! Maybe bad things happen because it's the only way we can keep remembering what good is supposed to look like. Remember that every fire will burn itself out, even without our help. Believe that every cloud has a silver lining and Good timber does not grow with ease -the stronger the wind the stronger are the trees.

Its easy for all to comment on this issue and give advises. But a man will always think to give the best to his family. No matter even if has to do some extra commitments. But at certain stage, its the dead end and people can think only about killing themself.

Agree to the fact that suicide is not the only solution, but the person here might have found no way to go about. Inspite of having all his personal tensions, he too got harassed at workplace. As india is stepping forward towards development, employers have started to harass more. The reason of india being over populated.

Every student wants to be an Engg. and once done, he does not get a proper work place. Its inevitable to think as what is happenning in our country. Why dont people think about leaving the city and proceeding towards the country side and start farming ?? or that matter raise a dairy ? Feel sorry for the relative of this family. May god rest their souls in peace.

It's a real unfortunate chain of event, solely due to the fact that a person's sentiments has been provoked and played with .. many such incidents are happening across the world on a regular basis .. but who cares. Given the fact that Murthy shouldn't have been nagged..but why make the children a scapegoat is indeed a ''million dollar question'', which possibly may never be answered. He must have thought that tomorrow, the children's image would get tarnished just as his and they too would imbibe in his act. What else can be said, the result is sheer apathy. That is why today there are scores of authentic family / private counsellors working round the clock to boost up their morale and avoid such recurrences. It's said that counselling helps a person come out of the situation he is in and enables him to get a new facelift in his future course of life, if the person so desires .. but an aggressive conscience and vigorous attitude to help this realise is very important. However, sadly many literates in today's fast moving age fail to believe that this just does not work out as per their requirements and hence they adopot a care-a-damn attitude. A positive attitude outlook should always be prevalent. This makes a world of a difference. Alas, Murthy, Lakshmi, Yashas & Rohit are dead. Let's hope there aren't any more loss of lives. One can only pray to the Almighty their souls rest in peace & their kith n kins accept the true reality of life and face the fortitude with courage.

Such a cute looking kids. I feel so sorry. He could have at-least known his responsibility. If i can judge I accuse him. I doubt this tragedy would be for silly reason, which cannot be gauged with innocent lives. Who will control these pre-matured marriages??? Can Govt?

Yet again another tragedy! Why kill the wife and the children if one wanted to get rid of his life! Feel terribly sorry for the young and smart looking boys! This is another example why one should not over commit himself when it comes to finance and property matters. After all, it is not a must that you should have a house of your own - one can always rent! Also, if one faces problems and harassment at the work place, there are always avenues available to them - like approaching the Union Officials and/or the Personnel Department, and they should make use of such services. As Geetha Kamat said, Murthy must have been just 19 year old and his wife Laxmi would have been 15 when they got married, even if they had their first child after one year of their marriage! This sort of early and immatured marriage should not be encouraged and allowed in the modern society.

Which did he do first,Kill himself or poison his family?
Did his wife have their first born when she was 16years old ? And he was 20 years old ?
Which is illegal and certainly stressful for a person to manage such a responsibility at a tender age.Hence this unfortunate incident? So should the parents/elders of the family be held responsible?
