Mangalore, Jun 29:
The family members of Razia and Zuha Fathima, who were brutally killed by an unidentified person on Tuesday June 28, are finding it difficult to come to terms with the tragedy.

The victims were buried late night on June 28. On Wednesday June 29, police arrived at their residence in Panji Mogeru to conduct an in-depth investigation into the matter in order to trace the killer as soon as possible.

Mohammed Siraj, a brother of Razia suspected that this brutal act could have been carried out by a person known to their family, as Razia used to be careful and peep through the window before opening the door to any stranger. She would allow only known people inside the house, he said.

Another relative, Ibrahim Khaleel, who was also in deep grief said that killing an innocent woman and a 7-year-old girl cannot be tolerated by anyone in a civilised society. He added that the area in particular is notorious for illegal activities like drugs and rowdism. He said they believe in police and but will be consoled only once the murderer is traced.

He recalled that the house was built just a year ago and Zuha Fathima was a brilliant girl at school and active in every extra-curricular activity. Zuha’s brother Zahid’s first birthday was celebrated on June 10. Little Zahid was weaned only a few months ago when his parents went on Hajj, the relatives said.

Razia’s husband Hameed who is in a state of shock and grief said he did not have any enemies.

Speaking to daijiworld, police said that investigation is on in full swing, and assured that the killer will be traced soon.

Victoria English Medium School, Ladyhill, where Zuha was a student, declared a day's holiday in her memory.

Really sad... Killing a 8 year old girl is really gruesome and speaks about the criminal mindset of the killer. The saddest part is three more children are robbed of their mother's love and affection when they need the most. This crime should be condemned by all the members of the civil society and should put pressure on the authorities to bring to book the perpetrators of this dastardly act. My heartfelt condolences to the family

My heartfelt condolences to the grieving family.I am upset to see this dastardly crime. It is all the more painful the death of the small innocent girl and the moment I saw the one year old baby I feel the killers are ruthless, savage b's who should be made to suffer the rest of their lives. Who will replace that baby's mother. This baby will be motherless for the whole life and that is irreversible and irreparable. We have no answers for this but to pray Almighty for this grief stricken family.

    Dear Mangalorean
My advice as invvestigation is on full swing criminals will b traced soon..we are sure... bt one request is that if criminals are traped we shd punish in diferent way nt like court , station, cutody etc.. we shd sluaght thier two legs and one hand , and release them , coz they will b a indentity to all upcoming criminals , so crime decreases inocent will be saved..

Heinous act. Even underworld code of conduct does not harm women and children.

Looks to be an act of deadly vangeance caused by a big property or money dispute angle?

Two innocent lives are taken away brutally by some notorious criminals who are probably out there in and around the place, putting on a mask of ordinary person.......only until they do another such gruesome act. I hope and pray to God that He brings their deeds to light and they get caught and punished soon.
Nothing will replace the sorrows of that family. May God grant them peace and comfort.

It is really a sad incident. For whose fault who paid the price? May the departed soul rest in peace.
Yesterday in Daiji it is reported that "the reason for the murder is cited as family skirmish". Today the victim's brother hints at insider job. But the victim's husband saying he has no enemies? If it is family conflict he ought to know of such conflict if any.

Mr. Antony Arun D'Souza, things like this happen now and then. Remember the Vamanjoor incident few years back where a family of three including an old lady and school going kid was killed by a relative who was once staying in their house for earning his bread. It looks like a replay of Vamanjoor incident. Police have a tough job ahead in this case.
