Mangalore, Jun 29: It's common to sight mushrooms all over during the rainy season. But the mushroom sighted at Ranvik Vihar, which is right next to former minister George Fernandes' house at Bejai New Road is a very rare 28-inch tall brilliant white variety.

It's colour and size has attracted the attention of many and the residence is witnessing many a visitors. Daisy, a lady from the neigboured first saw it and soon informed locals made a beeline.

Mushroom Edible and Not Poisonous?

Shashidhar, a curious onlooker was of the opinion that the variety was not wild and poisonous. Pointing out that the ants were moving about on the mushroom, he inferred that they were edible. The size too has shrunk from the actual 28 inches to 26 inches following incessant rains in the past two days.
