Mangaluru: Rent payment online – MCC marching towards digitalization

Mangaluru, Apr 6: Owners of shopping complexes, commercial buildings and traders doing business in the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) owned buildings in the city can pay their rents online. The MCC has taken a step further towards digitalization. The process of new web application for the same is in progress.

The MCC which has already made online several services like property tax, trade licence, water bill payment, birth, death certificates and E-Khata is digitalizing rent of commercial complexes also. So far the traders had to visit the MCC and fill the prescribed forms and make payments. They were not doing this on time and the MCC was facing crunch in income for the same reason.

There are 26 market buildings, three commercial complexes and central office building of office consisting of 1050 outlets. The online portal will give exact details of previous pending and the rent that needs to be paid in the current month.

Booking of Kudmul Ranga Rao townhall and Ambedkar Bhavan at Urwa can be done through online in future. Excepting days on which there are government programmes, these halls can be booked online after paying specified rent.

Mayor Premananda Shetty said, “Rent of the MCC-owned market buildings, commercial complexes and other buildings can be paid online in future. New web application is being made ready for the same reason. There is no need for the owners of such outlets to visit the MCC office in future.”

    any update if the city is now cleared of garbage? Unfortunately citizens cannot send this garbage digitized. Development and advancement in technology is good but with no corruption and with no compromise to basics such as hygiene, maintenance of roads and public infrastructure

    They promised to reduce the property taxes for the year 2023- 24 , have they reduced?????. First of all they must give justice to the property tax payers.
