Bengaluru, Apr 6: In an extraordinary capture, Bengaluru-based professional photographer Harsha Narasimhamurthy has taken a unique photo of a tiger eating a leopard. The photo was taken in Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan, recently.
The photo quickly went viral on social media.
Harsha Narasimhamurthy, who has been a commerce graduate for the past eight years, is passionate about wildlife photography. He teaches wildlife photography and takes people on wildlife tours to various countries.
Speaking to daijiworld.com, Harsha said, "Recently, when I visited Ranthambore National Park with some clients in Zone-1, we saw people in two vehicles watching the tiger. We waited for 10 minutes. After the two vehicles left, the tiger lifted the dead leopard and placed it a few meters in front of it. Capturing a tiger eating a leopard is truly a rare incident. Tigers see leopards as competitors, and leopards often kill tiger cubs. In the Indian jungle, the tiger is a top predator and can kill any species."
Harsha also shared that he has been fascinated with watching animals and birds since childhood, which led him to pursue wildlife photography.
"Such behavior may occur in the forest, but capturing it on camera is extremely rare. In this case, the tiger would not have killed the leopard for food; if it had, the tiger would have eaten the leopard entirely. The tiger wants to prove its dominance," he added.
