Kundapur, Apr 6: Four people, including two bike riders, were seriously injured in a series of accidents involving a container, a bike, and a water tanker at Jalady, near Tallur on Thursday, April 6.

The incident took place on National Highway 66 in the afternoon.

Bike riders Sanjiva Mogaveera and his wife Rathna, residents of Beejadi, were critically injured. Anaz and Shaji, who were on the lorry, were also injured and were admitted to the hospital.

Reportedly, Deepak was driving a container lorry laden with cartoon boxes, with Anaz and Shaji in it from Maharashtra to Kerala. When the lorry reached NH 66, between Jalady of Hemmadi and Tallur, an IRB company water tanker was watering plants in between the road. The container lorry collided with the water tanker and turned turtle. Meanwhile, Sanjiva Mogaveera, who was driving his Vego bike with his wife Rathna as a pillion rider, collided with the rear portion of the container from the same direction. The bike rider suffered injuries to his head. Though there were three people, including the driver, in the container, the driver remained unhurt.

A case in this connection has been registered at Kundapur traffic police station.
