Delhi Police Nab Carjacker Gang

New Delhi, Jun 30: Three brothers of a carjacking gang have been arrested by the Delhi Police's Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of east district. With the arrests police claim to pin down the gang of interstate carjackers who were also allegedly involved in killing a UP police personnel.

The accused reportedly wrote letters intimidating a UP senior police official. The accused have been identified as Tony Ojha, Manoj Ojha and Sanjay Ojha residing in a rented house in Mandawali and Geeta colony areas.

Police said that they were arrested at Pandav Nagar. Tony one of the accused had allegedly shot a constable earlier this month to escape his brothter Manoj and and his associate from police custody.

Deputy commisioner of police (east) Prabahkar said that the gang was involved in around nine cases. Tony and his brother Manoj sold the car after forging documents. They chose easy targets to steal the cars he added.

The gang stareted operating in 2008 earlier they forged bank drafts to buy vehicles and sold them to innocent people and later graduated to carjacking.

Forged credentials like I-card of caretaker of ministry of urban development, I-card of a fake news channel, election I-card, seal of RTO, driving licence and Uniform of a sub-inspector of UP Police in the name of Rajveer whos forged I-card was also siezed from the gang, Prabhakar added.

The accused revealed that they were running a gang of carjackers in Delhi and NCR area and sold the vehicles to some Pintoo Singh and others in Gorakhpur officials informed.

Tony along with Pintoo shot dead a constable Ashok Kumar Gaur on June 22 and has escaped with Manoj who was an under trial prisoner in police cudtody

Three point 32, 315, 38 bore revolvers along with 15 cartridges, a car, a set of fake number plates were also confiscatesd by the police
