Mangaluru: Drug peddler arrested, MDMA worth Rs 7.5 lac seized

Mangaluru, Apr 8: A person who was selling MDMA drug was arrested on Saturday April 8.

The accused arrested is identified as Abdulla (39), a resident of Cherkala, Kasargod.

City crime branch under the leadership of ACP P A Hegde had obtained information that a person was carrying MDMA drug in a car from Bengaluru to Mangaluru for sale. Abdulla was arrested based on the tip-off. 

Rs 7,50,000 worth 150 gram MDMA, a car, a mobile phone and Rs 1,260 cash was confiscated from the accused. The total value of the confiscated goods is Rs 17,61,260. A case in this connection is registered at Mangaluru rural police station.

A case of transporting 45 kg ganja was registered against the accused earlier at Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. A case of consuming drugs was also registered at Kasargod Vidyanagar police station.

ACP P A Hegde, police inspector Sham Sunder H M, PSI Sharanappa, ASI Mohan K V and CCB staff took part in the operation.
