Srinagar, Jul 1:  Due to bad weather, the annual Amarnath Yatra (Pilgrimage) along both the routes to the cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district was suspended on Friday July 1.

A police officer has reported that the yatra would be restored as soon as the weather improves in the area.

The 13,500 feet high Himalayan cave houses a stalagmite is believed to represent the mythical powers of Lord Shiva. As many as 35,000 devotees have already performed the pilgrimage that commenced on June 29.
