Beltangady/Mangaluru, Apr 9: A house was completely destroyed after a grown coconut fell on it. This incident happened in Joebella Felix's house at Kalenjerodi near Badyaru of Padangadi village on Friday, April 7 in the night.

Felix's son Naveen and his wife along with their two children were living in the house. But, they escaped unhurt as they were on a visit to a church when the tree fell on the house.

The panchayat staff later paid a visit to Felix's house.

Yellow alert in Dakshina Kannada

Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been announced in Dakshina Kannada till April 9. The India Meteorological Department has forecast normal rainfall in a few places of the district over the next two days.

On Saturday, in the morning overcast cloudy conditions prevailed in many places of the district. Mangaluru recorded a maximum temperature of 34.2 degrees celsius and a minimum of 23.8 degrees celsius.
