Now Uma's Turn to 'Fast', but for Ganga

Daijiworld Media Network - Lucknow

Lucknow, Jul 1: Former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, and BJP's recently-returned party leader Uma Bharti is now all set for her UP election campaign. Currently in charge of BJP in Uttar Pradesh, Uma has threatened the central government that she would go on a fast if the Prime Minister fails to respond amicably to her 'clean Ganga' campaign.

While launching her ambitious Ganga river cleaning project from Ghazibad on Thursday June 30 she said that she will go on a door-to-door to campaign.

Coming down heaily on the central government, she alleged that the UPA has been lackadaisical on the issue of Ganga pollution, and asked the central government how much it has spent on the Ganga River Basin Authority so far.

Prominent BJP leaders of the region were present at the launch of the campaign.
