Telangana Issue: Cong MPs, Ministers to Offer Mass Resignation

Hyderabad, Jul 1: With no concrete decision from the central government over the Telangana issue yet, Congress MPs, ministers and legislators of the ruling party have decided to offer mass resignations on Monday June 4.

K Jana Reddy told reporters that all members of the assembly will sumbit their resignations on Monday at 11 am.

The MPs and state legislators will submit their resignations to Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar and state assembly speaker N Manohar, respectively on Monday. The members of legislative council will submit their papers to council chairman K Chakrapani.

He said that the central government should stick to the announcement it had made in 2009 and initiate the process for the formation of Telangana.

He reiterated that the decision is in the interest of the people of Telangana and it was a sacrfice for their sake.
