Student Cabinet for 2011-12 Inducted at St Agnes College

Mangalore, Jul 2: St Agnes College Student Cabinet for the year 2011-12 was inaugurated here at the college auditorium on Saturday July 2.


Chief guest for the occasion Fr Dr Oswald Mascarenhas inaugurated the ceremony. Student president Soudhamini along with four vice presidents and secretaries of various streams and associations presented the agenda for the year.

Vice-presidents of the cabinet are Melora Pais for commerce, Sindhu Serao for science, Rashmi Kotian for BBM and Analiza for the arts stream.

In his address to the newly formed Cabinet, Fr Mascarenhas urged young leaders to plan, organize and have control over their future. He said that each individual is special to god and has equal responsibility in the society.

He noted that life is similar to an agenda it comprises different paragraphs and new lessons.He also urged students not to take any day as trivial and instead lead an admirable life with values.

Dr Prem D’Souza administered the oath and distributed the badges to the new cabinet members.

Dr Saraswathi Rao welcomed the gathering. Sr Maria Kripa, Sr Supriya and members of parents teachers association among others were present.

    Congratulation to the cabinet and the president, I vividly remember my days at St Agnes college when I was the President in 1980-81. Those moments are still etched in my mind.

When you get out of the college, do not forget the moral values, no matter if they are Christian, every lesson you learn is for livelihood, career and better living.     Congratulations to the newly inducted Student Cabinet of St.Agnes College. This is the beginning of a new leadership assignment that will lead many of the young ladies to many other important responsibilities in the ever changing world of new challenges.

    Many of the young ladies "in blue" might turn out to be responsible cabinet members in many private as well as public sector organizations in their future life. Many of them will outshine far and beyond the boundaries of India.

    We wish St. Agnes College continued success in all their future Academic contributions that will bring continued name and fame for Mangalore and India.
