Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD/SS)

Udupi, Apr 12: Yashpal Suvarna, who has been named officially as the BJP candidate for Udupi constituency has expressed happiness and thanked the party leadership for giving him an opportunity to fight the upcoming Assembly elections.

"I am happy and thankful to the party for giving an opportunity to an ordinary party worker like me. I will work hard to live up to the expectations and the trust that has been placed on me," he said.

Reacting to the news for the first time with the media persons, he said, "Barring Kaup, I am not confined to one constituency in Udupi district. I have worked for the party in nooks and corners of the country and in different states. I will work wherever my party directs me to work."

To a question on how he would convince the incumbent MLA Raghupati Bhat to support him, he said, "He is my guide. He had worked for my success even in the CMC elections. He had also guided me in carrying out various party functionaries. I will continue to take his help and guidance and move forward."

Yashpal Suvarna said he was targeted during the hijab controversy and he added that he will continue to work for people to ensure justice is delivered.

"Today, I am happy to be called a Hindu. All the pontiffs of the eight Maths and others respect me for being a Hindu. As a CMC member, members of all communities had supported me and I will continue to take the blessings of the elders and work unitedly with the youngsters," he said.

Udupi is an epicenter of education; we need a MLA with vision & class to represent us and take our youth to next level, break boundaries, divisions and create family oriented peaceful society. Minorities please come out in big numbers and vote against announced BJP candidate. Ensure highest polling. Your one vote can create a city of our dreams.

I totally agree! How could he get a ticket when the government knows that there are several cases against him? How unfair! I am totally shaken by this news.

What a statement on being given a ticket - “Today I am happy to be called a Hindu……” how will he follow the Supremo’s slogan “ Sabhkha Sanath - Sabhka Vikas “….?… these hard core elements should be defeated at the polls - Karnataka and south Kanara , once a paradise turned into living hell by these saffron goons. Udupi is a temple town and we pray to the divine to ensure the victory of a candidate whose sole aim should be for the betterment of his constituency and society at large. Jai Hind

Hijab controversy and attacks against minorities got him a seat with BJP which tells more about BJP than this guy. If people of his constituency want to live in peace without one controversy or other every day, they should defeat this fellow. May be Bhat wasn't communal enough for BJP.

Among so many controversies, not even listening or swiftly repairing/fully white-topping the perampalli road (beside his own star hotel), despite so many posts in all social media, was probably the "waterloo " moment for Mr. Bhat. Lets us hope the new MLA is acutely sensitive to the daily lives & needs of the common man.

"Today, I am happy to be called a Hindu.".................. What a stupidity ? We want a leader who respects all religion not a person who divides the society......... !!! By his statement we understand Political Meaning of his "Hindu"............ So many days he was working hard to become his kind of "Hindu"

"Today I am happy to be called Hindu"??? Earlier was he not happy? Only after getting ticket from BJP he has become Happy Hindu??? By the way, the more one bash minorities day in day out and become famous the more they have chances to get seats... This is way they get chances to get recognised and enter into politics..... Hindutva is totally different from Hinduism of Vedas and Upanishads.... Hindutva is for political gains which has their own rule of minorities bashing, troubling, denying justice, snatching others rights, voilence etc to name a few...... Since not many knows Sanskrit or dont open up Religious text books even in their life time and blindly believe what is being propogated these hatred leaders which makes almost all of them to get fooled and turn as blind bhakts..... If one belive in attaining Moksha, then if they follow Hindutva ideology of Sangh Parivar then they will land into Hell not Heaven, coz for entering heaven good things are thought and practiced....

God is great. Dher hain lekin andher nahin hai. This man the so called chanpion of hindutva may fail miserably. If at all he wins then it will be a sorry state of affairs. I'm pretty sure that this man is lying and Hindus know very well what is the difference between Hinduism and Hindutva.
