Bantwal, Apr 12: A student has single handedly dug a well and got potable water winning praise from his family and the villagers.
Srujan, a PUC student and son of Lokanath and Mohini who live in Nayila of Narikombu village of the taluk took it as a challenge to get water independently as the panchayat was not supplying adequate quantity of water. Without taking assistance from anyone, Srujan removed the mud all by himself up to a depth of about 30 feet and got almost 3 feet of water.
Srujan who is studying in B Mooda Government PU College has completed his I PUC and is now ready to take up his II PUC exams in the next year. He saw the ordeal that his family faced to get water and was expressing his desire to dig a well. While his family members kept quiet, he took it as a challenge and he dug a small pit before the exams. After finishing the exams, he continued work on the pit and went deep digging it up. He found water after he had dug about 25 feet and the well was found to be full of water.
His family members expressed joy and happiness on hitting the water source and praised Srujan for this accomplishment. His family members shed tears of joy on Srujan's achievement. Villagers also praised Srujan's efforts and are patting him for his effort to get a valuable water source.
