Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School holds summer camp for junior KG to grade VII students

Mangaluru, Apr 12: A summer camp for students was organised at St Agnes CBSE School from junior kg to grade VII students from April 1-11. It was a prodigious initiation by the school for creating fun activities and enriching the students with new ideas apart from the routine academic work.

A grandeur inauguration gave a boost to the start of the camp with dignitaries being  Tejakumari the yoga instructor by profession, Ashok MC karate instructor, Dhanraj dance instructor, and Sr Maria Gracilda AC the principal. The programme began with devotional prayer song and the gathering was welcomed by Savitha. There were around 154 students who have been enrolled to the camp.

The camp began with a spectacular yoga performance by Abhijna a student of Kendriya Vidyala CPCRI Kasaragod who is in grade VII and has given some record-breaking performance in yoga. Each day students were occupied with numerous activities such as dance and drama, yoga/meditation, art and craft, mehndi designs, face painting, mask making, fun games and traditional games, makeup, picnic to Kadri park and museum at Bejai.

They had eminent personalities to guide the students to develop various skills. Akshatha Kudla mimicry artiste, Yogesh Shetty and Rakshan Madoor skit and drama instructors, Yogitha mehndi artiste, and Harshith Someshwar and Tejas M beat boxers, and Arun and Roopesh for art and craft.

The closure ceremony too was a grand affair with the chief guest being Nisha the karate instructor who has won several medals in karate, sports and has keen interest in acrylic painting and participated in state level dance competition. She expressed her gratitude for being a part of the event and congratulated each student for their excellent participation.

Other dignitaries were Sr Maria Gracilda AC the principal, Sr Lenita Lobo AC the vice principal and Sr Edna Furtado AC the administrator. The children exhibited their talents of dance, action song, karate display, mimicry, and beatboxing etc. The winners were awarded with trophies and certificates. The teachers in charge of the camp were honoured for their selfless service. A meal was served to the students, teachers, and parents too for their support and cooperation.

Sr Maria Gracilda too congratulated the students for their excellent participation and encouraged the students to carry on the skills that they learnt in the camp for a lifetime. She thanked the teachers and parents for their support and cooperation and extended her gratitude to the students who joined the camp from other institutions.

It was a great platform to exhibit the talents and spend some fruitful time in learning something new and innovative.

The management congratulated the principal and staff for their wholehearted support towards the betterment of the students and planning different to give students the best encouragement.
