Mangaluru, Apr 12: “I will be visiting Kukke Subrahmanya temple, Kateel and Someshwara Temple as I used to visit them before every election. I have prayed for victory and for the welfare of the state and truth,” said chief minister Basavaraj Bommai speaking from Dharmastala.
“I have spoken to those who are deprived of the party ticket. The party has made them MLA and looked after them with respect. Their political future will be secure. Anybody would get upset when they do not get the ticket. Savadi has responded out of sadness. He has a relationship with the party. He is close to me as well. I will speak to him and sort out the matter with him. The second list will be out either tomorrow or day after."
With regard to contesting against Congress candidate Vinay Kulkarni, he said the party has not targeted anybody. "Who my opponent is not important for me. The people of the constituency are important for me. I will face anybody,” he said.
Responding to a question with regard to retiring from politics for some, he said, "They have only said that they will retire from electoral politics and not active politics. Senior leaders will speak to Eshwarappa. S Angara is a gentleman. I will speak to him,” the chief minister added.
