Bantwal, April 12: “People of all groups should bless me in the elections. I will work more sincerely than before if I get elected,” assured Bantwal Congress candidate B Ramanath Rai.

He was speaking after inaugurating his election campaign office at Dhanalaxmi complex, in front of Padma petrol pump on Wednesday, April 12.

“As there are only 27 days left for the elections, party activists should work hard to ensure the victory of the Congress party,” he said.

The new office was inaugurated by senior party leaders.     

The occasion was special as seven elders including Janardhana Shetty Modankapuguthu, Ramanna Poojary Kangihitlu, Jinaraja Ariga Karinja, Haji B M Khader Bantwal, retired soldier Valerian D’ Souza, Baby Nayak Sajipamunnur and Balappa Shetty Vagenadu Karopady inaugurated the office.

Balakrishna Alva Kodaje welcomed and compered the programme. Campaign committee president Umesh Safalya rendered the vote of thanks.

Bantwal block Congress president Baby Kunder, Panemangalore block Congress president Sudeep Kumar Shetty, KPCC members Pius L Rodrigues, M S Mohammed, Chandraprakash Shetty, former zilla panchayat member Padmashekar Jain, other unit office bearers and others were present.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Kailara joined the Congress party.

    These seniors should take a back seat and allow youngsters to come forward in electoral Politics. People who can not even walk properly are still wanting to contest elections? What good will come out of this is what people should think seriously before voting.

    I am not very happy that congress party which is for all and secular using Brahmin priests for performing pooja. Such poojas in offices of congress leaders should be performed with priests of all sects ........... Baby anna is accepting that he wasn't sincere and honest during his previous terms is an embarrassment to congress voters.
