Mangalore: Mandd Sobhann Launches 'Kalakul', Roshan’s Concert Mesmerizes Audience

Mangalore, Jul 3: Two notable events were witnessed at the 115th monthly theatre (Mohinyanli Maanchi) organized by Kalaangann, Shaktinagar in the city on Sunday July 3.  One was the launching of ‘Kalakul’ and the other, a musical concert by Roshan Dsouza Belman.

'Kalakul', an ambitious project of Kalaangann, which been serving the theatre by nurturing young theatre artistes since its inception, was officially launched by well-known playwright, director, lyricist, and filmmaker of 'Oriayrdori Asal' fame, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail.

Kodialbail hailed Mandd Sobhann for its dedicated services to the cause of Konkani language, art and culture. “This is the only way to serve our mother tongue and keep it alive,” he opined.

He stated Kalaangann as temple of art. He dedicated all his success to the audienc and supporters  of his shows. He also regretted that during his younger days  no scientific training was available to learn theater. He requested the artists to avail the benefits of  Kalakul and also to respect the art and the gurus.  Eric Ozario, Gurkar, Louis Pinto, President, Stany Alvares, coordinator and administrator of Kalaakul and Christopher Dsouza, chief trainer of Kalaakul were present in the dais, Arun Raj Compared the program







































'Kalakul' Konkani drama repertory will continue to train the emerging theatre artistes as before. On Sunday, at least ten artistes trained by Kalakul presented a play, 'Navarasam', directed by Christopher Dsouza of 'Ninasam' fame.

Kalakul will be presenting its maiden Play “ Vallu-Jillu Zindabad” adopted from Kannada by Arun Raj Rodrigues  on Sunday September 4th   at Kalaangann.

Soon thereafter, young artiste, Roshan Dsouza Belman, presented his ‘Nasibantlyan Chedwa’ musical concert. His hit songs kept the audience thoroughly entertained throughout the show.

M Dolvin was the music director. The songs of fourth ‘Nasib’ CD were unveiled by Belman and a dance show was staged by professional artistes.

    Kannada, Marathi and Bengali theaters are top 3 theaters in India. Adopting modern Kannada plays are not a easy task. We need to take Konkani to the level of these 3 langauges. We wish all the best to Kalakul. Sepcialy to Arun Raj of Judas, ward no.6 and Jezu bhonvaricho Striyo modern konkani plays fame.

    KALAAKUL IS PRESENTING ITS MAIDEN PLAY 'VALLU-JILLU ZINDABAD' ADOPTED FROM KANNADA?? DON'T U GUYS THINK THAT WE SHOULD FOCUS MORE ON DOING OUR OWN KONKANI STUFF?? I THINK LITTLE BIT OF HARD WORK CAN AT LEAST MAKE THINGS BETTER!!?

    Really we enjoyed a lot.. It was a colourful evening & a memorable too... The hero of "Oriyadh Ori Asal" Mr. Vijay Kumar inogurated Kalakul.. Roshen's Concert was super with his entire group.. Lamb jeeyo Mandd Sobhan.. Lamb jeeyo Konkni... Jai Ho....
