Mangaluru: Speeding car kills 35-year-old pedestrian at Mukka

Mangaluru, Apr 15: A pedestrian died at Mukka near Suratkal as a car hit him while walking on road side on Friday April 14.

The deceased is identified as Raghava alias Jeevan (35), a resident of Belalu.

The car driver escaped after the mishap. But the car was traced near Haleangadi and confiscated later.

Raghava used to set up tents for Dharmasthala Yakshagana troupe. He was on his way to work when the mishap occurred.

The deceased is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.

A case is registered in north traffic police station.

With no dedicated service roads, underpass etc. for pedestrians, even on highways, it has become a very risky business for people walking along side the roads!

Many people die on roads without any fault than with diseases.More vehicles ,more racing than driving.to many two wheelrs and bikes showing their stunts.Common man has no chance to walk on sides.May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathies to the family.Now let the killer support the family

Crossing at highways need extra care. Always use pedestrian crossing and be very vigilant about the public crossing

News says he was walking on the side of the road, not crossing the road. Must be a case of rash and negligent driving. Very sad and unfortunate.

Sympathies with deceased, not sure what happened in this case. But one must be very careful while crossing the highways, whatever the urgency it may be. Because after all it is highway and vehicle tend to speed up.

Sometimes people are seen crossing highway with out judging the distance of crossing. A speeding car at once can't break. Now the case is filed against yhe driver because he didn't stop.whi h wrong . Advise to drivers something happens stop yhe car attend the victim.or if you are afraid of public straight go to.near station & surrender
