Bantwal: Mortal remains of missing elderly man found in river

Bantwal, Apr 17: The mortal remains of an elderly man who went missing from Kaulige of Sajipamunnuru village in the taluk were found at Netravati river on Sunday April 16.

The deceased is identified as Parameshwara (75). He had gone out of the house on April 14 night carrying a torch with him and did not return. As he was wearing normal clothing that is worn at home, the family members thought that he was going somewhere nearby. A missing case was filed by Shivananda, son of Parameshwara in the city police station.

On Sunday, a body was found floating in Netravati river near Madiwala Padpu. It came to light that it was that of missing Parameshwara. Whether he accidentally fell into the river or killed himself is not clear.

Bantwal city police are investigating.
