Bantwal, Apr 18: Thieves broke into a well-known hotel in the heart of B C Road, between Mangaluru and Bengaluru, in the wee hours of April 18 and stole more than Rs 30,000.
The burglary took place at Krishna Vilas Hotel, owned by Kishore, located in front of the KSRTC bus stand.
The thieves broke the hotel lock, opened the shutter, and stole more than Rs. 30,000 from the cash counter. They turned the CCTV camera up before breaking the lock.
However, the CCTV had already captured the thieves arriving to steal at around 1:50 am, as well as their entry into the hotel wearing a cap and tying a towel over their face during the theft.
Despite the presence of police personnel from Bantwal and outside round the clock for elections, thefts had decreased in the area for some time. People are now asking how thefts are still occurring.
