Mangaluru, Apr 22: One of the most auspicious festivals for Muslims, Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims across the globe. It marks the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
The celebrations on Eid are usually filled with grandeur with families coming together for a feast. As the first appearance of the Shawwal moon was not reported on Friday night, the date for breaking the fast will be Saturday, April 22.
The joint Khazi of Udupi, Hassan and Chikkamagaluru districts Al Haj Abdul Hameed Musliar, Ullal Khazi Sayyed Fazul Koyamma Al Bukhari and Bhatkal Khazi have called on to celebrate Eid on Saturday, April 22.
Generally, the Islamic community in India celebrates the festival a day later than in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Eid ul-Fitr will be celebrated on April 22 in India.
