Puttur, Apr 23: A collision between a car and a two-wheeler resulted in the death of a bike rider and injuries to four people, including two children at Kalleri near Uppinangady in the taluk.
The deceased, Jaffar (35), a resident of Kalenjibailu near Moorugoli of Barya village, was traveling with his children Hafida (12) and Abeeda (8) towards Guruvayanakere when the accident occurred. Both of Jaffar's children were injured, along with U T Rahim and Zubaida who were in the car. The injured were taken to the hospital in Puttur.
Jaffar, who used to work as a cook, died on the spot due to the impact of the collision. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and one son. Both Jaffar and Rahim were celebrating Eid in the car at the time of the accident.
The car was reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road, causing the accident. The impact of the collision caused both the car and the scooter to fall into a roadside drain.
The Puttur traffic police have registered a case and are investigating the incident further.
