Puttur, May 3: Following the release of Congress manifesto on Tuesday, May 2, which promises to impose a ban on Bajrang Dal, moral policing seems to be on the rise in Puttur.
A Muslim youth was attacked by Bajrang Dal activists for talking to a Hindu girl on Tuesday.
Mohammed Parish (18), a first PU student and a resident of Marial Kadumane, who was allegedly attacked by the Hindu activists, is undergoing treatment at Puttur Government Hospital.
Police have launched an enquiry regarding the attack.
Mohammed Parish said Bajrang Dal activists attacked him. "My classmate had called me after which we met each other. Both of us drank juice at a parlour. About 15 of them called me. I told them that we were just friends. But, they still attacked me with wires, lathis and swords. A hot piece of iron was placed on my neck. I was warned against filing a police complaint," he said.
