Kundapur, May 4: An elderly person, who cast his vote from home for the legislative assembly elections of the state, died on Wednesday May 3 even before the results were declared.
The deceased is identified as Retired teacher Maladi Gururaja Bhat (94), a resident under the limits of Thekkatte gram panchayat. He had cast his vote from home on April 30 and died on May 3.
Bhat had registered himself for casting his vote from home as his children are employed in outstation districts. Accordingly polling booth officers and personnel had made provision for him to cast his vote from home.
It is really tragic that Bhat did not live to see the result of the elections for which he cast his vote.
