Bahrain: Nirmith, Shefali Win Karnataka Social Club Prince, Princess Titles

Bahrain, Jul 9:
It was a lovely sight as little girls in shades of pink and blue and young boys in tuxedos walked the ramp with elan, vying for the titles of Prince and Princess.

The occasion was Karnataka Social Club-Bahrain's induction ceremony for its newly-elected committtee, during which the Club's Annual Prince and Princess Contest was also held.

The event took place at the Baeng Saemg Thai auditorium on Friday 8 July. Felix Mirinda introduced the new committee for the year 2011-2012.

The pageant started with a cheer from the audience for the sporting and splendidly dressed boys and girls. The confidence on the faces of the contestants, the poise and the elegance in which they presented themselves earned them much appreciation.

Nirmith D'Almeida was adjudged Prince while Shefali Fernandes was crowned the Princess. Consolation prizes were presented to all the contestants. The new winners were crowned by last year's winner Aswin Sequeira and Tanya Girish.

A children's dance was also held where prizes were offered to the lucky winners.

A grand buffet was served soon after the results. The event closed with a dance session of Konkani baila.
