M'lore: Love ke Liye Kuch Bhi: Youth Turns Robber for Girlfriend, Caught

Mangalore, Jul 12: Talk of going to any extreme for the sake of the one you love. A youth and his girlfriend were arrested on Tuesday July 12 in connection with the Mescom robbery case that was reported earlier on Sunday July 10.
Interestingly, the girl, Poornima, who has been arrested was also the one who filed the complaint. An employee of the private firm that operates the bill collecting system for Mescom, Poornima had filed a complaint with the Suratkal police that two persons wearing helmets, who came in a motor bike, tied her up and robbed about Rs 1,35,000 on Sunday evening.
Police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh told mediapersons that Poornima and her boyfriend Chetan had enacted the whole scene, and Poornima later confessed to the crime when the Suratkal police suspected her after conducting investigations. It came to light that Chetan committed the robbery with Poornima's help. However, it was Poornima who had asked Chetan to rob, as she was badly in need of money, Singh said.
Police seized a sum of Rs 1,20,885 and a Tata Sumo from the couple. Poornima was produced in court while Chetan was taken into police custody.
Both are residents of Idya in Suratkal.
