Bantwal, May 18: Praveen (58), a resident of Netla in the taluk, has been found to have tragically ended his life by jumping from the Nethravati river bridge on B C Road on Thursday, May 18.
It may be recalled that Praveen had jumped into the river off the bridge on Thursday morning and a search was on for him.
Local authorities, including drowning experts, the police, local youth, and the fire brigade, launched a search operation for the body, which was recovered in the evening.
It is reported that Praveen, who worked as a mechanic, had been grappling with mental health issues and had previously attempted suicide. A complaint has been filed at the Bantwala Nagar police station. Praveen arrived at the bridge riding a bike, parked it, and then took the fatal leap.

Bantwal, May 18: In an incident that is reported, a man jumped into Netravati river. Local diving experts are searching for him in the waters.
It is said that Praveen Netla is the person who took this extreme step. He is married. He was working as a mechanic and was mentally disturbed.
It is said that Praveen did not go for work for the last two days and was roaming around. It is learnt, that he also messaged his friends on WhatsApp that he is going to die a couple of hours before he jumped into the river.
An eyewitness said that a man came on a motorcycle, parked it on the new Netravati bridge, left his footwear and jumped into the river.
Bantwal station police are on the spot and search is on for Praveen.
