Bengaluru, May 20: Dr Alok Mohan has been appointed as the Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG&IGP) (Head of Police Force) Karnataka.
The position was vacant after the appointment of DGP Praveen Sood as CBI director.
Dr Alok Mohan, the director general of police & commandant general, Home Guards has been given the additional charge along with the post of chairman, Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation, Bengaluru with effect from May 22.
Dr Alok Mohan is 1987 batch Karnataka cadre IPS officer. He has the experience of working in various divisions of the department during the last 36 years. He was the joint commissioner of Bengaluru city crime division, ACB and ADGP. He is due to retire in April 2025.
