Mangalore, Jul 13: High alert has been sounded in the city following the triple blasts that rocked Mumbai on Wednesday July 13 evening.

Speaking to Daijiworld, police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said that bomb squads have been deployed in railways stations, malls, cinemas and elsewhere, where people gather in large numbers.

He appealed to public to remain calm and added, "There is nothing to panic."

Also, the exit and entry points to the city have been secured, with police checking commuters passing through areas like Nantoor, Pumpwell and Kadri.

Police officials have been making rounds of the city to detect anything untoward, and senior officials are also on alert.

Police have urged people not to spread rumours and to cooperate with them.

On Wednesday evening, three blasts went off in Mumbai in a terror attack, killing nearly 20 people and injuring hundreds. The explosions occured at Dadar, Zaveri Bazaar and Opera House between 6.50 and 7 pm, at a time when large crowds gather in these places.
