Bengaluru, May 24: Chief minister (CM) Siddaramaiah declared that no moral policing will be encouraged or allowed in the state.
Chairing a meeting of senior police officials at Vidhana Soudha here on Tuesday, May 23, in the evening he directed officials to strict action against hooligans who disturb harmony in society.
He also directed police officials to monitor social media posts which spread misinformation which might lead to law and order issues.
After the meeting, CM Siddaramaiah said the government will end all kinds of moral policing. He said the police force should be citizen friendly and take complaints with courtesy at all the police stations.
He said DCPs and police station in-charges will be responsible for any unlawful activities and crimes such as rowdyism, clubs and drug menace.
The chief minister also directed police officials to ensure that there is no discrimination between religions.
